Tips for writing your letter

  1. Start with an introduction: Let Chris Minns know who you are and why you’re writing to him.
  2. Explain why you care and ask for action: Tell Chris Minns why you think he should implement the Synthetic Opioid Preparedness Plan for NSW, you can copy and paste some of the reasons below:
    1. People right across the state are at risk of overdosing and dying right now. We need pill testing (drug checking) services started across the state immediately.
    2. Our community is completely underprepared – most people don’t know nitazenes exist, let alone how to avoid them and what to do if someone overdoses. We need a public communication campaign to increase community awareness and our ability to respond.
    3. We need to expand access to the life-saving overdose reversal medicine naloxone and train first responders on how to deal with severe overdose.
